R for Rain ... and Reprieve

We got a reprieve from the rain today long enough to draw some rain drops still clinging to leaves of my Surinam cherry plant. I drew this with a 2B and 6B Faber-Castell graphite pencil on Strathmore Bristol Vellum paper.

  7. This is gorgeous. I love the waxy quality of the leaves and how the drops just puddle up in rebellion.

  8. Hey everyone! I'm still grinning with all your beautiful comments! I've always avoided rain drops cuz they are chock full of reflections and tough to render. But, I felt up to the challenge. I'm gonna go outside now to find other challenges to tackle ... like reflections on a lake! Ack!
