Bag of my sketching supplies

Admittedly and embarassingly, I usually carry my sketch supplies in a ziploc bag. Just a couple pencils, a few pens, an eraser, a pencil sharpener and some postcard sized stock that fit nicely in a quart-sized bag and being clear, I can find everything I need. Of course, I run the risk of looking like an art nerd ... a ziploc bag is sort of the equivalent to pocket protectors, don't you think? Since I knew I would be out in public this afternoon, I stuffed my things in a cloth bag, which served its purpose very well. I even had room for my watercolor supplies! I think this bag will do from now on. :)

    I think I'd happily keep a ziplock bag fill of pocket protectors in full view if I could draw half as well as you do. Beautiful work, and never put those pencils down again!

    well gee then call me an art nerd. :-)
    i've got a huge collection of ziplocs (you gotta reuse 'em right? LOL) - mostly gallon size bags Joan (you must be laughing your head off now, huh?)
    the gallon size are perfect for really large paper - for all my scrapping projects. i often use the smaller ones for pencils, pens, kneaded eraser etc. and i really dont consider it nerdy at all LOL. you should see my suitcases when i pack - everythings in ziplocs (you'd think i owned stock or something)

    I used to keep all my supplies in an old video case - this would seem smart (it's a good size, travels well, closes securely) if it weren't for the fact that the case in question was "School House Rock". Talk about feeling like a nerd!

    Loved the story about your Mom - and SO glad you kept drawing. Bet your Mom is too.

    I certainly need a zipped up bag to cart around. Just have a very open large shoulder bag with a Fijian tapa design. One time at a meetng it fell upside down on the floor under a table and I had to pick everything up, one thing at a time!
