Laua`e ferns

I was missing graphite this week so thought I'd try my hand at a quick study of values using my Cretacolor ecologic with a super duper fat lead. What a challenge that was! I loved it because it forced me to work in sweeps. I don't know if I like this at all but I had fun with it. This drawing is a patch of laua`e fern.

    OMG! This is STUNNING! Really, I love it Joan. (I am bowing at your throne as I type this.) Wish we could draw ferns together. Just looking at this makes me feel peaceful.

    Thanks Teri ... I actually miss it when I don't draw with it. I guess that's why it's my preferred medium.

    Kate ... You made me smile from ear to ear. We will have the chance to do that someday. :)

    Serena ... Natural things make me feel serene. Maybe that's what's reflected in this drawing. Thanks for the comment.

    Jo...very nice! I suppose I'm still quite puzzled as to why no one commented on the mongoose hidden partially behind the lower right hand leaf. I found it to be really quite incredible how you managed to blend it in with the background. Again...quite beautiful! Oh yeah...Chelsie says hi!
