What started out as a doodle, ended up being quite an involved drawing. I guess such is the nature of things when drawing fur as Juj ("Hey Juj"; formerly "Everything is Contextual") can probably attest. She is the mistress of fur in my book. Check out this post.
Mamo is so relaxed! He is gorgeous!!! What a fine drawing with all the pen lines. Must have taken you some time to do>
ReplyDeleteLove it!
It turned out great, Joan! I love how you do your cross-hatching ~ :)
ReplyDeleteYou did a gorgeous job on Mamo!
ReplyDeleteAnother great illustration, Joan! You make it seem so relaxing. : )
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. It did take a bit of time but I'm glad I finally got over my cat-drawing phobia and drew her. If Mamo were human, she's be feeling slighted since my dog, Kanoe, seems to get all the attention. :)
ReplyDeleteHe looks great!
ReplyDeletelove your drawing! --and enjoyed all your work throughout your blog!
ReplyDeleteGeesh - quite a GREAT doodle - Your entire blog is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! That fur is stunning! It looks like I could reach out and pet him...
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm embarrassed! (that missing red flower is on my face now - lol) I was so busy devouring the lines in Mamo's fur I completely missed the part about me! Thank you SOO much Joan, but honestly, if I'm the mistress of fur you are definitely the MASTER. (and yes, I completely agree - there is no way to draw fur without becoming entrenched...)
ReplyDeleteWow, what an incredibly amazing drawing of a cozy cat... I can almost feel the warmth and hear the purr! And I´ll be damned if that allergy isn´t starting to tickle my nose too! A great drawing!
ReplyDeleteHi Joan I love this adorable kitten! I like the Canson paper, but it doesn't like my charcoal pencils or sticks..Im just learning about different papers etc..It is a lot toothier, if that is the correct term, than my regular sketch pad..other than it being HUGE I like if, it blends well
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Jo, this is fabulous. Absoluteley gorgeous. Haven't visited for a little while - I'll be back in blogland next week. Just thought I'd say Hi and Wow!
ReplyDeleteThat kitty does look cozy! What a terrific drawing. And your flowers before that are stunning!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pamyla, Deb, Sandy, Juj, Nina, Andrea and Ann!
ReplyDeleteJuj ... Thanks! I do love your drawings and think that such talent needs to be highlighted. :)
Andrea ... Missing you! Wishing you a safe trip home!

ReplyDeletei'm been absent of late so what a treat to see all your beautiful drawings!
Thanks Tracy! Mamo is now 14 years old so she's slowing down a bit and enjoys her days on my bed. So, it makes her a great subject!
