Road walk

pen & watercolor, 2.5"x3.5"
(SOLD)

While driving home, I saw this fellow walking along the road. It was such a peaceful time of day that I tried to capture the image in my brain so I could draw it later on. Suffice it to say, it was a difficult job. But this is what I remember.

  1. I love the idea of drawing something after living through it, trying to recapture what it was that made you want to do it in the first place. Do I detect a hint of melancholy in this, Joan?

  2. Oh, insightful France! Interesting. I imagined doing this one with a bright sunny sky but then dusk seemed more appropriate. Melancholic was definitely in the mix of emotions. Very interesting!

  3. I think this is something I could not do, even though I create some of my works from my mind I don't think they really relate to a specific moment. Must have made a big impression on you for the result is most atmospheric.
