I just got back from a weeklong rat conference for work. Admittedly, I learned a lot and if you're in the conservation field like I am, you need to know about rats. They are very well known predators of native forest birds, seabirds, herps (lizards and such), and native plants .... especially tasty endangered ones. This is a painting of an iiwi, a native bird that has a distinct "urp ... eeeep!" call much like a squeaky hinge. I still see them in native ohia forests several miles from my house but they are becoming rarer and rarer. Consider yourself lucky if you ever catch a glimpse of these incredible birds.

A new day

Aloha All,
This is my very first post of my daily paintings and drawings. Well, I can't say they will always be daily but I will try. This is a sampling of some of my work that I've done so far. Most of this set were donated to the Humane Society's Dog Day Afternoon 2007 silent auction. From what I hear, the auction was a great success.
