Under and over

When things got tough, I used to crawl under a pumpkin cherry bush ...

I've been experiencing a bit of a creative dry spell lately and I can't really put my finger on the reason. I think we all go through that once in a while. But today, my fingers itched to put this on paper. I can't explain why or how it came to be, but this is what they produced. It reminded me of important things.

Well this is a very powerful image... I assumed it was an imaginary bush... not a real one... I used to hide under the covers, and sometimes in my closet under the hanging clothes... I was a weird child... now I'm a weird old woman... works for me :-)

Thanks Elaine. Yes, it is all very symbolic to me. But, I really did find haven under the pumpkin cherry bush. :)

A very interesting sketch, Joan. I used to hide behind doors in my childhood. I find that time is my enemy when it comes to my artwork of late....with four kids still at home, there just never seems to be a spare moment.

Thanks Serena! Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I was really struggling to find time for my art and hadn't been in the mood! I got inspired to draw again because this one seemed to have been stuck in me and once I drew it, I was able to let the others that were behind it flow out, as you can see now! :) Whew!

Hey...this is your brother. I remember that pumpkin cherry bush...used to have the hole underneath big enough to crawl under. Guess we both used the bush... :)

Mariana ... thank you, my friend!

Bruce ... <3 Remember when we used to crawl under it when it rained? I think I drew this for the both of us.
