Illustration Friday: Layer
watercolor
Small kid time, nothing beat Aunty Kay's 7-layer jello (well, her potato mac salad was pretty killer too). It was the coveted treat at Thanksgiving and New Years dinners and we'd peel off each layer, one at a time, savoring each delectable almond-flavored layer. To a kid with big eyes, the layered jello was like a giant coveted prize and we couldn't wait to dig in, especially when no one was looking! I took some liberties with the size of the piece but to a kid, this piece is the *perfect* size! LOL

Ono-licious! I immediately recognized your 7 Layer Jello, a staple (for big and small hands) at our family gatherings, too!
Love the local scenes and references to the islands in your art! :o)
Though I can never stomach my grandmother's layered Jello, I love this illustration! Good job!
I loooove jello, though I'm not a kid!
Beautiful water color painting, ♥♥♥♥♥
Great water colour illustration! Really love it. You've made me curious about the 7 layered jello...I've never had one. Sounds divine though!
Yum! Jello-licious!
Thank you everyone!
Michele, are you from the islands?
Calista, LOL I remember the kind that had cottage cheese in it! (oh, I think I liked it! Hah!)
Bobo's mom, thanks you so much!
Rabbit Town Animator ... 7 layered jello is made with multiple layers of different flavored jello with layers of plain almond-flavored/sweetened condensed milk yumminess in between. It's really pretty! Here's what they look like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/iamtonyang/61079235/

I used to make the layered "finger jello" for my kids, and actually thought of it when I saw the topic. Really cute.
