"Daily drawings and paintings by Joan Yoshioka"
Tonight, I got lost in this drawing. I used my Pigma Micron 005 so it took a little longer than usual but it was a nice distraction. I might work on it some more later but I'll stop for now.

Wonderful!! I am using my Micron 005 pen, too! I love this drawing, Joan. I am glad you have finally put your "toilet issues" aside and have had a chance to draw tonite.
Don't you love the 005?!? Yes, I was very glad to put my toilet issues aside so I could relax and draw. I still need to replace the floorboards. So, when are you coming over to help me?
Love me some .005! (I wish they did the .005 in Sepia, too. The "brown" is way too reddish.) And this drawing? Awesome!
Ryan, I know what you mean about Pigma browns. Hooray for .005s!
D, Thanks! Oh, I know what you mean about bending tips. I did that with my first pen and so have to be more careful. It usually takes my abuse these days.
Love this one. Love the wide range of values you have achieved.
Very impressive cross hatching, Joan. I love this sketch!
Joan,
I haven't visited your blog in too long - and love the recent entries - especially the beautiful earthy colors of your leaf debris! Thanks for sharing.

Just visiting for the first time. Wow, great drawings. Nice variety of work. I'll be back.
This is GORGEOUS, - such an interesting angle and so graphic.
Incredible drawing, Joan....I'm impressed by the cross-hatching too ~ :)
This is beautiful. I love your hatching.
oh joan - this is truly amazing (my jaw literally dropped open). And it definitely is proof of the "getting lost" - the best drawings come outta that place! and yesssss on the 005! tis the best :-)
Thanks everyone for your comments. Your support means the world to me! :)
I am fascinated by the shadows you create with your cross-hatching...and the structure of the drawing subject translates so well. Impressive.
