Proof!

I've been drawing, really! : ) Hope this little teaser post finds you all well. I'm in the middle of drawing some marigolds that I've grown from seeds (feeling like an adoring mama). I love their splash of color *smile* !

Thanks for the encouragement! When things get crazy at home, don't you find it difficult to be creative? You always make me smile with your comments. Thanks!

You draw on Bristol vellum? isn't that very slippery?
Anyway... Very nice to see you drawing! Marygolds, eh? Like doing a self portrait.... Lovely, can't wait to see the end result of this happy project :))

Pretty, Jo!

Hey Siggy, nah, bristol vellum is like rough paper although the paper seems more durable. I first thought that it would be that plasticky thing but it's not. Thanks! I am taking my time with this one ... just enjoying putting color to paper. It has been too long. Love the recent pics of your kids on your photostream. : )

Thanks Shannon! Feeling better?

Gorgeous Joan. Are the pencils watercolour or a specific type. ?
Bristol vellum sounds beautiful to work on.

Thanks Joan! (I love that we're both Joans!). The colored pencils I use are regular Prismacolors. I love them cuz they are soft and maintain their vibrant colors. I haven't tried watercolor pencils yet but would like to try. The first time I used Bristol vellum with colored pencils, I didn't like it much because it has so much tooth! But that is what I like about it now. It takes colors well and you can put layer upon layer of color and it doesn't gum up! Thanks again for stopping by!

Really lovely, the colours are so inviting and they make me want to get outside again (its still a bit cold and wet here) but spring is here at last. Roll on better weather when I can get out and enjoy the great outdoors.

I loved seeing your hand too, Joan! Like a virtual visit to your studio. As usual this is beautiful work, and grown yourself, that's art from beginning to end.
