Why?

"Please explain why your silence makes more noise than thunder." - Anon.

Figured this image speaks for itself. Don't you just wonder what she's thinking? Transparent watercolor on Arches, cold press.

I love this, Joan. It turned out great. Her posture and the way she is hanging her head speaks louder than words. Love the turbulent sky in the background and limited color palette. Great painting.

What an unusual subject for you Joany Y. As yet, I have not braved any portraits (especially in watercolour) since attending classes in the subject over 20 years ago. Your watercolour washes and tones are a delight and most unusual composition.

Love this one, Joan. I especially like how you worked all the tones into the hair. Brilliant!

Very nice Joan. It is very expressive. It has a "feel" to it! It makes me imagine what she is thinking and how she feels...

Wow - that's nice - there's a lot of emotion in the pose and the style you've painted her in.

I do like the mood of this, brought out by the wonderful use of colour. I'm not good with silence - I need noise around me! Kids fill that need :-)
