Orchids preparing for the fall

I am so thrilled about my orchid plant because it has a new sprig! The flowers are whitish yellow-green, if you can imagine that. :) I did a bit of hatcharoo using the classic "Belleville-style" (now turned "Van Stone-style") in my moleskine and I think it gave the flowers a lot of depth.

Very nice! I love when we create art together...even if it is on iChat and an ocean away! Can't wait to see the orchids in person...love that color.

Thanks Kate. I enjoy creating together too. We'll have to spend some time drawing in person when you come to visit! :)

A whole 15 days since your last post, I thought I would die of impatience, but so well worth the wait. Love these orchids, especially as I am growing a couple of pots indoors myself at the moment for current interior painting for a charity auction. Your work will inspire me.

Find your sense of rhythm in this drawing so attractive and the tonal values are great.

PS - may I look at this image when I get round to adding my white orchids to my acrylic painting, as the shapes are rendered so lifelike????
