EDM Challenge #118 - Hair

Hair ... faces ... proportion ... all challenging. You know, people are definitely not like plants, where one can fudge a leaf ... maybe add one or remove one for drama. But people? No way! move half a millimeter to the left or right and you go from something looking realistic to picasso-esque. Alas, practice makes perfect ... and I'm practicing.

Oh, and thanks for thinking it, but no, this is not a self portrait. Heh :)

Thanks Anita. It's a little different from my usual but I feel compelled to practice my human form. And this woman has form!

Well, yes, I wondered if it was you at first. I thought "All this talent, smarts, adventure, and she gets to look like THIS too??!!" ; ) Besides choosing a beautiful subject, she is very beautifully rendered. I think women and flowers make some of the most inspiring subjects (I guess so did Georgia O'Keefe). Very nice, Joan.

The subject, the shading, the detailing......a beautiful drawing all round, Joan!
