Bathroom fiasco

What do ya do if your copper overflow pipe breaks and your toilet runs all night? If you're an Aries like me, you'd consider taking apart your toilet and fix it yourself! I can't proclaim that I actually fixed the thing although I now have a zillion nuts, bolts, washers, and unidentified pieces strewn across my bathroom floor! I think it's time to call the plumber. *wink*

I am only laughing at this wonderful sketch because we were there a month ago and I was too busy cussing to do a sketch :)

I've only had time to lurk lately, but finally have a minute to myself. Your drawings are wonderful. I find myself very jealous of your location ... wonder if Hawaii could get me to draw landscapes. Hopefully, I'll find out one day.

What a great sketch of awful bathroom chaos!
Sorry for getting so much pleasure from your fiasko-sketch, but seeing that you're an Aries, you can porobably handle it?

And yet, somehow you were able to see, or at least find and show the beauty of this. Best of luck!

Oh....how sad. I hate house issues. And they always happen at the worst possible times. Great drawing, though!

Ah....I learned to pee standing up in front of that toilet. Nice pic Jo!

Thanks everyone for your wonderful support and commiserations! The bottom line is this: the toilet tank is still on the floor and now the wall and floor tiles are pulled up as a result of all the water damage. I am dealing with that right now. More disaster illustrations to follow! lol.

Bruce ... yes, I remember! :)

What an incredible drawing - I am so impressed that you sat down to draw this under the circumstances.

Anita, I'm glad someone knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about! :)

Casey, the situation was so beyond ridiculous, I had to capture it somehow. lol. I'm sure it will bring fond memories every time I look at it! hehe

I'm a fellow Arian too but, being on the cusp, I find I lean more towards Pisces traits. That said, I can lay claim to repairing a toilet once where the water constantly ran and the sound of it at night drove me nuts. I could take it no more so fixed it myself....not the first thing I've fixed on the household side of things either so maybe that's an Aries trait showing through (proudly smiling)?

Great drawing, Joan! I hope it isn't too expensive to fix it all up.

I love the fact that (like an Aries??!!), you took the whole darned thing apart but took the time to sketch the *temporary catastrophe* in your Moleskine!!
I like this use of the Moleskine spread, Joan. You make me want to try to go in there with my pencil...

I'm in awe, not only that you took it apart, but that you were calm enough about the situation to sit down and draw it! Quite impressive.

That is not something you want broken, for sure!

Happy to have found your blog!

Wow, jo you're crazy! I would never have ever have considered taking it apart. Actually that would have been the last thing I would have thought. So did you fix it? Did you get a plumber round?
Whatever, it's a fabulous drawing. Really fabulous.
