You got a new camera?!?! You did not tell me this. How cool! W;lcome to 2007! We've missed you! You will have to tell me all about it. I expect to see a lot more photos on your blog now. ;-)
I love your work, its such an ispiration. I love drawing but could never come up with what you do. Keep it up, and maybe I will learn something and maybe I'll be able to do something like you some day. I will strive.
I see the wonkiness, but of course, that's what makes it appealing -- if you had done it with a ruler, you would have hated it. But you know that :-) Great shadows, too.
Hey Kate ... I've been camera-less for far too long! Ah, it's good to be back! :)
Whos your nanny ... Hey, join us at Everyday Matters (see the link on my blogroll). All that matters is that you put pencil to paper! You're gonna love the folks there. We come from all backgrounds and skill levels but everyone is so supportive. Stop by for a visit!
France ... lol. You are so right. Practice, practice, practice. Hehe. Have a good one!
Hi! I'm an outdoor-lovin' optimist, biologist/botanist, and habitual creator of art-stuff. I believe the key to our most fundamental and truest part of ourselves is found in nature and I constantly draw on it for inspiration.
"Keep your love of nature, for that is the true way to understand art more and more".
- Vincent van Gogh
Just shoot me an email at joanyoshioka(at)gmail(dot)com! The oil paintings were painted with artist grade paints on cotton canvas with sides painted black so they don't have to be framed; they hang perfectly with a little nail (not pretentious at all!). Watercolors are on Arches 140 lb. watercolor paper using artist grade paints; the art cards are sent out in a sturdy plastic art card sleeve. If you'd like the original watercolor matted, please let me know. All prints are giclee meaning they are made with archival pigment dyes and are professionally mounted on acid free foam board with acid free mats in a clear cellophane envelop. Please note that the colors in the originals may differ from your screen.
Welcome!
