"Daily drawings and paintings by Joan Yoshioka"
Here is my last installment of my travel sketches. As you can imagine, I was busy with wedding festivities in NC and didn't have much time to draw ...
But, I leave you with these images of my trip that reflect feelings of excitement, boredom, exhaustion, and also wide-eyed wonder. I had fun!

ohh i havent had much time to check in lately - so i come here this morning and see all these lovely drawings and realize you were practically next door (in NC) - someday we'll have to get you to VA!
Great stuff. I found planes are much more difficult than they seem. Nice cross-hatching too here. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Really great sketches and lots of memories!
Great work on both of these, the plane is exceptional!
These are wonderful Joan. I am glad you had a good trip, despite all the long hours of travel.
Tracy ... Whoa, VA is next door! Yes, next time I am in your neck of the woods, I'll give a holler!
Steve ... Planes ARE hard! I wonder why. I never could get the perspectives right. If you find the trick, will you let me know?
Teri ... Thanks! Yes, very nice memories.
Anita ... Hey, thanks much! I had a lot of time to kill.
Kate ... Mahalo and also thanks for helping me pack! I was warm enough thanks to you.
LOVE the perspective on that plane - gives it such personality! Just terrific!
Holy crap! Where was i? Where have i been, Joan? These two sketches are so much fun! It shows how much waiting traveling entails :-(
The perspective on the plane is so good!
Joan--I have been viewing your site. You have some nice art to show. I really like your line sketches. Will be looking in for more new art.
The perspective on that foreshortened plane - wow! Those are so darn hard to draw and you nailed it!
