The clutter

Since I had a 20-minute wait in the lobby of my hotel before the shuttle ride back to the airport yesterday, I started to draw my everyday thing ... my purse. As you can see, it is not quite as empty as my previous drawing (here). I finished it up at home while watching Blade Trinity (that Wesley Snipes ... wow!).

Brilliant drawing, Joan!! I love the composition too. That neglected strap that didn't make it on the page just does it for me. You're so good.

I'm with France: the composition on is one has a major wow factor! That strap on the left, reaching onto the other page, like it's exploring. Love it!

Thanks France ... There was some complimentary coffee in the hotel lobby so I got my self suckered up enough to be creative with my composition. Heh.

Ryan, Sharon and Susan ... Mahalo friends! I actually missed my flight home on Friday so had to stay an extra day on Oahu ... this was started early in the morning and I began drawing my purse exactly where I plopped it on the floor next to my feet. If things had fallen out, I would have drawn it as is too! :)

Joan -- This is outstandingly brilliant! Each item is richly, accurately, beautifully portrayed -- the texture on the purse -- fantastic!!! What a gorgeous, gorgeous work!

another here applauding the composition. the drawing itself is amazing (and my purse is such a mess all the time i dont think i'd even attempt it open!) but its the placement on the pages that just sends it over the top. wonderful

Thanks everyone for stopping by and leaving me encouraging comments! I can't believe I shared the innards of my being through this drawing. I will have to pull out the big things in my purse and draw all of the little crappy things at the bottom!
