"Daily drawings and paintings by Joan Yoshioka"
I keep walking past a cluster of Aloe vera plants on my way to the mailbox and have been meaning to draw their very cool shape. They are plants that always seem to be posing. I did this quick sketch when I got home. Simple ... but that's the kind of plant they are.

Not so long ago I've sketched one.
This is lovely. You've achieved beautiful color variations and gradations.
Joan, you do beautiful work. You do such a nice job with all of the mediums you use that I don't think you should limit yourself to just one. Really great stuff!
Great drawing of Aloe vera...It really looks succulent and thick..wonderful!

Thanks Tracy. We have a bunch of different plants that line our driveway. We have them because they're good for burns ... just rub it on a burn and voila!
