EDM #70 - What I'm afraid of

When I thought of doing this Everyday Matters Challenge, I could think of only one thing that I'm most afraid of ... it's having to use this Epipen. This little doohicky is suppose to save my life if I accidentally eat crab, lobster, or shrimp and go into anaphylactic shock. The thought of having to jab myself in my thigh, as a needle shoots out a dose of epinephrine, is only slightly less scary than not being able to breathe. Thankfully, I've never had to use it yet! :)

Being a retired RN I have to say I am happy you have one of these because someday it may save your life, as you are well aware.

Being an artist I have to say this is a wonderful sketch and the perfect answer to the challenge.

Hey Teri - Yay! I love RNs ... to me they are society's glue.
D - Well, I actually loooove crustaceans. I developed an allergy as a teenager probably because I ate too much of it. My mouth still waters when I smell it! It can get agonizing at times.

oh joan - great sketch! and so good that you have that epipen. i've got nephews with epipens - for their peanut allergies.
my son developed an allergy to crab as a teen. he was far away from home - with friends for the weekend - can you imagine me getting a phone call from the dad saying - is J allergic to anything? he's violently ill....
:-O It kills him that he can't eat crab anymore (specially since we live in crab country :-))

Yes yes Tracy! A similar incident happened with me as with your son. While eating lobster at a campout I started having difficulty breathing. Fortunately, there were two nurses there that saw the signs and gave me some benadryl. They literally saved my life. I'll always be grateful to them.

I can understand that fear. But, you did a wonderful job drawing it.
